Privacy, in plain English
This site is run by neighbors, for neighbors. We ask for your information for exactly two reasons: to send messages you ask us to send, and to keep you informed. Here's the whole deal.
What we collect
When you sign up or send a message, we collect your name, mailing address, email address, and phone number (if you choose to share it), along with the message you write. We verify your address against USPS data โ county officials give far more weight to messages from real, verifiable residents, and that verification is what makes your voice count.
What we do with it
- Send the messages you ask us to send. When you use this site to write to county planning staff or commissioners, your name, address, and message go to those officials โ that's the entire point, and it only happens when you click send (or when you've asked us in advance to forward your message as a rezoning case moves to the next stage).
- Keep you informed. If you join the mailing list, we'll email you updates about rezoning issues affecting our area. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing always works.
That's it. We never sell your information, and we never share it with anyone beyond the county officials you've asked us to contact and the services that keep this site running (below).
One thing worth knowing
Messages sent to government officials can become public record under Georgia's Open Records Act โ the same as if you emailed or wrote to the county yourself. That's normal for civic participation, but we'd rather you hear it from us.
The services we rely on
Like most websites, we use a few trusted providers to operate: Vercel and Neon host the site and its database, SendGrid delivers our email, Peachtree Data verifies addresses, and Cloudflare helps block spam bots on our forms. They process your information only to provide those services for us โ none of them may use it for their own purposes.
Cookies & tracking
No ad trackers, no analytics profiles, no selling your attention. The site remembers your light/dark theme preference in your browser, and that's about it.
How long we keep it
We keep your contact information so we can reach you about future rezoning issues, unless you opt out. Want your information removed entirely? Email richard@preservemeadowchurch.com and we'll delete it.
